Pacific League (パシフィック・リーグ)

Also known as: Pa League

Founded as the Taiheiyo Baseball Union in 1949, it acquired its current name in 1980 and is one of Japan's two major baseball leagues (the other being the Central League). The winner of the league pennant plays the winner of the other league in the Japan Series. The league is comprised of six teams:

- Chiba Lotte Marines (Chiba)
- Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks (Fukuoka)
- Hokkaidou Nippon Ham Fighters (Sapporo)
- Orix Buffaloes (Osaka and Kobe)
- Saitama Seibu Lions (Tokorozawa)
- Touhoku Rakuten Golden Eagles (Sendai)

Peace Park (平和公演)

Peace Park in Nagasaki was built in 1955 to commemorate the atomic bomb dropped on the city on August 9, 1945. The bomb's hypocenter is located in nearby Hypocenter Park and is marked by a monument with a black pillar. Each year on the anniversary of the bombing, the mayor of Nagasaki delivers a peace declaration in the Peace Memorial Ceremony.

Princess Tenko (プリンセス・テンコー)

Princess Tenko is the stage name of the internationally-famous Japanese magician and illusionist, Mariko Itakura. Prior to being apprenticed in 1976 to the first Tenko magician, Tenko Hikita, she was already well-known singer with the stage name Mari Asakaze. She assumed the Tenko name on Dec. 15, 1980 after the death of her teacher the previous year.

Punch Satou (パンチさとう)

Also known as: Satou Kazuhiro (佐藤和弘)

Punch Satou played baseball professionally as an outfielder from 1990-1994 before becoming an actor appearing on sports shows and variety shows.
